frigidaire frt18s6a aw7

this frige is about two years old. temp goes down to 40-50 in the frige---freezer stays ok. unplug a couple of days compartment goes back to normal for a couple of weeks. Then does the same thing.

also not sure which repair manual to order (service does not list 20 cubic ft) on the service manual for top freezer or do i get the sealed system one? thank you

Go with the top freezer manual. That will cover the defrost system and what you need for your repair. All the FRT Model Top Freezers are pretty much the same when it comes right down to it.

With what you told me, you don't have a sealed system problem.

It sounds like a Defrost issue. When you unplug the machine and defrost it, it runs fine until it freezes up again. Usually takes about a week.
