Frigidaire Affinity Washer frozen on pause/error beeps 3 times

My son started a load of laundry and the machine is now frozen with an error message flashing pause. when hitting another button or trying to start the load it beeps 3 times and reads error. I've tried unplugging, I've tried holding the start and cancel button to reset....can't do anything...does anyone know if this can be fixed or will I have to make a service call/
