icemaker frustrated

Icemaker would not dump the frozen ice. Thawed the freezer to remove ice cubes and to clear the water line. Now the ice cube tray will not fill with water. The door water dispenser does work. Any ideas?

Most of the time when the ice maker will not let the cubes go, the ice maker heater is bad. A heater has to come on for a few seconds to free the cubes from the ice maker mold so they can fall out.

Let me know how you make out!

Makes sense about the icemaker heater but, what about the ice tray not filling with water.

Try this...

Switch the plugs on the water valve on the back of the refrigerator.

Now with the freezer door shut, attempt to get water from the water dispenser. Because we switched the plugs on the valve. The Ice Maker should be filling up. If water goes into the ice maker, then replace the ice maker.
If no water goes into the ice maker and your sure the water line isn't froze up, then replace the water valve.

Let me know if this works for you.
