I have a 4 wire 220V recepticle wired in my house. My new dryer is a 3 wire 220V pigtail. Which one should I change, and what would be the wiring diagram if I go from 4 to 3 wires.

Hello,

I would change the Pigtail on the Dryer. That would be the easiest route to take. When you are changing the cord be extra careful not to drop the terminal block screws down inside the back panel. lol

Other than that its pretty simple to replace the cord on the dryer.

Good Luck
Bill
