I have a Whirlpool Model WTW5200VQ2 top load machine. The water temperature is inconsistent. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I am guessing the thermister is acting up. My problem is how to remove the water valve from the machine. I don't see how to remove the back of the washer. Do I have to remove the cabinet to gain access? Any help is definitely appreciated.

I'm going to give you a link to a video to watch, called whirlpool cabinet removal.

But before that video will help you you will have to pop off the control panel.

There are two philips screws on the backside of the control panel. They are angled down. The hold the control panel down on the top panel. Take them out then watch this video.
