kenmore washer won't spin

I have a kemnore washer that will agetate and drain but won't spin out. During the spin cycle the motor will run and the tub will drain but the tub doesn't spin. Is this a bad clutch? Does the clutch engage to make the tub spin?

It sounds like the same problem I had before. You need to pull the transmission off and check the parts making up the clutch assembly.

It's been about 2 years, but I think it was a plastic piece that broke on mine. You can only get the clutch as a whole kit.

You want to first check the motor coupler.

That is what attaches the motor to the transmission.

You have to remove the motor to get a good look at it. Most of the time this is where you will find the problem.
