start button won't light up and start dishwasher

ding dong came out today to fix dishwasher after doing thousands of dishes over the holidays...he said it was on delay and left. My mom was here for the service call. when i got home, i realized it was not the problem because i am not that clueless! I forgot to leave a check so he said his boss would be pissed. anyways..glad i didn't pay yet because the dishwasher still won't start.any ideas? before i have the ding dong back.

First thing is not have ding dong back. Find another servicer if needed again.

Post the model number so i have an idea of the machine we are looking at.
