On this model dishwasher there is what's called a wax motor that opens the door for the detergent. If the wax motor has failed the door will not open when the dishwasher wants soap.
Remove the outer panel of the dishwasher door and check to make sure nothing has come loose. That includes wire connections.
The wax motor will set you back about 20 dollars. Relatively easy repair.
The part number for the wax motor you need is 902899.
